6. What You Say Is Important!
What you do and say at the scene could affect your right to receive compensation. Do NOT talk about the accident to anyone, except police officers at the scene. If police do not arrive at the scene, simply exchange information with the other driver. State law requires all drivers to provide their name, address, license number of their vehicle, and their driver’s license number. Do NOT discuss who is at fault.
